Crevice Cave for L‑Catfish (L034, L082, L168 and similar species)

Our crevice caves are crafted to replicate the narrow rock fissures that many L‑catfish naturally inhabit. Each cave features a slim, elongated profile with a rear opening to support strong water flow and provide an additional escape route.

Modeled on a Natural Crevice

Every cave is shaped by hand, giving each piece its own unique character. The interior includes intentional height variations so your catfish can settle into the exact spot that feels most secure.

From our experience, species such as L168, L082, and Ancistrus ranunculus (L034) often prefer crevice‑style caves over traditional designs. These caves also make excellent hiding spaces for most other L‑catfish that can fit inside a structure around 8 inches long. Larger or longer versions can be custom‑made upon request.

Durable, Natural Materials

We use high‑temperature stoneware clay with varying amounts of fireclay depending on the product. This results in caves that are exceptionally stable and long‑lasting. The surface is intentionally left slightly textured, encouraging natural biofilm growth — a surface catfish love to graze on.
