Notes -The Corydoras genus was recently split into 7 different genera. Corydoras melini is now officially known as Hoplisoma melini.
The False Bandit Cory is an elegant shoaling fish with a distinct bar going down its back. Differentiated from the Bandit Cory (Hoplisoma metae) in that the back stripe splits into two when viewed from above. The black band is also slightly thicker in Hoplisoma melini when compared to Hoplisoma metae.
Corydoradinae should be kept in groups of six or more on sand substrate.
